Common Mistakes

1. Indicator Overload

Problem: Adding too many indicators creates conflict.

Result:

  • Bullish signal from RSI
  • Bearish signal from MACD
  • No idea what to do

Fix: Use 2-3 indicators max. Each should serve a purpose.

2. Blind Usage

Problem: Using indicators without understanding how they work.

Result: Blind faith leads to blind losses.

Fix: Understand the math before trading the signal.

3. Lagging Indicators

Problem: Using only lagging indicators for entries.

Result: Always entering late.

Fix: Combine with leading indicators or price action.

4. Analysis Paralysis

Problem: Too many tools creates confusion.

Result: No trade executed.

Fix: Pick one setup. Master it. Then expand.

5. Not Adjusting for Conditions

Problem: Using same tools in all market conditions.

Result:

  • RSI useless in trending markets
  • Bollinger bands useless in chop

Fix: Adjust tools to market state.
